Why so surprised, Ohana? She looks much better in that dress compared to you, and I bet those boys didn’t fail to notice how well-endowed she was. She’s got you beat in several departments, Ohana – sad to say. And even though I just praised Nakochi for being cute and whatnot, she managed to grind my gears in spite of that. Such a shame.

She blushes ...all the time

Hanasaku Iroha chose to select Nakochi as its main character for this week’s episode. And as such, we follow her throughout her daily routine as she dreams of being a mermaid, takes care of her siblings, works, gets paid, and gets hit on. What a day. Or so I would say, except for the fact that it doesn’t mean jack considering she’s to shy to really do anything much in any of those situations.

Treasure this picture of Yuina, folks, as this is pretty much her only scene in this whole episode. She didn’t play much of a role at all this week and her only purpose was to deliver news to Ohana – which she already knew. That being said, it wasn’t only Yuina who was shafted; Ohana, Nakochi, Minchi, and Jiromaru (My precious Jiromaru) were all relegated to the statuses of side characters. Most of the show focused on Enishi’s self-confidence issues and his “blooming” period, for lack of a better term.

Hanasaku Iroha wasn’t the only show that threatened to turn into a bore-fest, Sacred Seven fell into a ditch this week as Alma, Ruri, and Kagami take part in the school’s efforts to set up the school festival, the hallmark of any school-based show – besides of course, the swimsuit episode. Anyways, the Dark Stone was a joke and didn’t call for a transformation. After all, aren’t those stones expensive as hell?
