Dantalian no Shoka & KamiMemo Episode 4,5 – Double Whammy! (Usagi Drop and No. 6)

Ah, deadlines. They frequently cast me into particularly precarious situations where I run the risk of having my ass handed to me on a shining platter. That said, I haven’t slept for over a day and I’ve been working nearly all that time. You know what that means? Work harder and get it done? No, silly! It means that I should write an anime post about all the episodes I ran through this past weekend…with six hours left ticking on the clock. Oh, dear.

Usagi Drop & No. 6 Episode 4 – For the Yaoi(Lulz)
No. 6 is a Noitamina anime and it brings a lot of expectations along with it, at least from my perspective. It’s being produced by BONES (Fullmetal Alchemist, anyone?) and even has some light novel source material to cover for it. But from what’s been shown this week, there will be no grand science fiction plot like I had initially hoped. Yes, it’s still going to contain sci-fi elements, but it’s not going to go the route I hoped for: something like Fractale, but better.
As for Daikichi and Rin, well, their story is getting on a little better. I have no qualms with the story anymore as I’ve come to realize that this show isn’t going to throw any drama at me, the likes of which Ano Hana did in large quantities. Harrumph, why, yes, that just may be a new love interest for Daikichi.
No. 6 & Usagi Drop Episode 3 – Buttsex, It’s Sudden
I underestimated this show, No. 6 is totally a BL anime. ^ Just look at that picture above? Still convinced that Nezumi’s not boning little Shion in the rear after this? Hm? You don’t believe me? Why, that’s jus- correct. While there hasn’t been any clear indications that Shion is going to wind up with Nezumi, I think it’s fairly obvious to everyone at this point what’s bound to happen…lest the fan girls scream their heads off. Oh, and with a 60% majority, Aniphiles will remain a single author blog for now – let’s see what happens in two years though.
Though I’m nowhere near becoming a father yet, I do have an appreciation for a show like Usagi Drop. It’s much mellower than its companions in the animu world and gets by just fine without inserting an abnormally large rack or a few guns, or BL, or yuri, or fanservice…you get the point. Rin is slowly coming into her own as she’s becoming more vocal about her feelings. Read the rest of this entry
