The opening song is in a language that I’ll label as French for now, though I’m not entirely sure. Regardless of what language it actually is in, it’s a fitting song and melds with the historical feel of the anime quite well. Hey, it’s this or an upbeat JPOP tune. Which one would you prefer for a show like Dantalian no Shoka?
Three episodes in and Kamisama no Memochou is already showing its weaknesses. Not good, JC Staff, not good at all. While some may be delighted at the recent revelation that Narumi is a natural conman, I’m not pleased in the slightest. Between the two shows, Dantalian no Shoka is obviously the superior one with better scripting, smoother transitions, and a plot in each episode that stays well-grounded and plausible. It’s been said before, and I won’t be the last one to say it again but Mayo Chiki’s saving grace is the skillful balance that’s struck between all of its elements. You have beautifully twisted characters like Suzutsuki controlling everyone else through her schemes, though they’re well-intentioned, and gynophobes like Kinjirou and aichmophobes like Subaru Konoe. Funny how the two main characters each have their own weaknesses.
Kanade Suzutsuki takes everyone to a water park after telling Kureha, Jirou’s sister, that she’s happily going steady with Jirou. She’s suspicious at first, that is, until Suzutsuki agrees to help Kureha in her pursuit of Konoe. Poor girl, she doesn’t know that she’s a reverse-trap. Read the rest of this entry
