AnoHana Episode 9 – Everything Links Back to Menma
It’s time for my favorite show of the spring season! That said though, the way things are going for “We Still Don’t Know the Name of the Flower We Saw That Day” is bound to divide fans of the series. Some might praise the plot direction, while others might feel it comes across as being cliched or contrived.
With the revelation that Menma does, in fact, exist, the other characters try to adjust to her presence, even though they can’t see her. Tsuruko and Anjou are clearly irked by the floating cookies, while Poppo and Yukiatsu accept her wholeheartedly. And in Yukiatsu’s case, it’s clear he’s grasping on to that belief strongly. Denpa Onna Episode 9 Review(?)
If SHAFT were to totally forgo the story line of Denpa Onna, I’d be willing to give an arm and a leg and bet that they could create a successful series out of the sheer cuteness (kawaii, if you want to be otaku-lly correct) of it all. Oh, and it seems like we’ve finally caught a glimpse of the white-haired girl from the opening sequence.
What’s there to say for this week’s episode? Well, Ryuushi and Makoto finally exchange phone numbers, and Makoto takes part in some amateur baseball games by the riverside. He star-gazes with Erio and also gets her involved in the baseball games, but when she accidentally knocks out one of the players, the “injured” person, who happens to wear a space suit, starts to act a bit odd.
